Money for babies? I find the thought absurd. The government bribes people to make more babies. You won't find it here in the Philippines since the government is actually clamoring for the people to stop multiplying. We can't afford the unrelenting increase in the population because we can't find jobs, housing, food, and clothing for millions of Filipinos at the present, not to mention that estimated increase in future generations.
When a country becomes more industrialized, I think people find less and less reason to marry early because they're busy with careers. A single status is more convenient because a partner and children limits your options in life. Perhaps the only way we can properly control population growth is by concentrating on making our country a first world nation.
