Below is a link about New York City campaigning to drink water from the tap. Bottled water drinking habit becomes popular for the past several years now and many entrepreneurs are cashing on it.
On the other hand it is claimed by some environmentalist that drinking bottled water contributes to global warming.
How will this conciousness change our perception on our action towards drinking water? Are we really endangering our environment if we drink from bottled water? If yes, why? If no, why not?

I don't think such a scenario would be applicable in the Philippines. I don't know about the quality of water in New York City, but here in our country you could get all sorts of disease if you drink tap water regularly.
Bottled water is a business. The plastic bottles that they use for packaging can be reused and recycled. If NY is going to bully an industry on the grounds that drinking bottled water could contribute to global warming, then I don't see why they don't encourage people to stop drinking softdrinks, or beer, or coffee... because the packaging they use also contribute to global warming. If we're going to help the environment we must be conscious of where we put our waste, and that's what really matters.
